WHAT IS COMPETITIVE/SELECT SOCCER?

Competitive (a.k.a. Select or Travel) soccer is for U11 and older players seeking the highest level of competition and coaching, and who are willing to make the required time and financial commitment.

North Texas offers some of the highest quality Competitive soccer in the country. It is not unusual for teams from the DFW Metroplex, Waco, Midland, Wichita Falls, Amarillo, Longview and towns in-between to participate in North Texas Competitive leagues.

Teams play in the Boys Classic League, Lake Highlands Girls Classic League, Plano Premier Invitational League, Arlington Premier League, and other various leagues.  The league a team plays in is determined by the team or the club.

Are There Tryouts?

Competitive (U11+) teams do hold annual tryouts and can select their players starting July 1st. Selected players sign contracts and commit to play for the full soccer year, from July 1st to June 30th. Competitive teams train year round, compete in preseason and post-season tournaments including Qualifying tournaments for leagues and upper level tournament invitations, and may travel out of state.

Teams and clubs may offer supplemental tryouts or player evaluations throughout the year.  It's best to contact the team coach, manager, and or club for further information and details.  Please do not just "show-up" to a teams's training session and expect to participate.  There are rules against this from North Texas Soccer.
